DIY Tiny Home Build Process
From Planning to Assembly

The DIY tiny home build process begins by defining the home, site, foundation, and customer responsibilities before engineering or manufacturing starts. From there, the project moves through package selection, design review, fabrication, owner or contractor assembly, and location-specific inspections and placement.

Define Your Project

Document the decisions that determine the package and engineering scope:

  • Intended use and household needs
  • Building, delivery, and placement location
  • Planned length, width, layout, and mobility
  • Trailer or site-foundation requirements
  • Budget, timeline, and customer construction responsibilities

Select Your Build Level

Choose how much work you want our team to complete:

  • Foundation only
  • Foundation with subfloor
  • Foundation with precision steel frame kit
  • Weather-tight shell
  • Semi-complete home

Design and Engineering Review

Our team confirms the structural requirements, major openings, frame geometry, foundation configuration, and project scope. Project-specific documentation is prepared before manufacturing begins.

Manufacturing

Your foundation and structural package are built in our Colorado manufacturing facility. Components are fabricated for your project rather than pulled from a generic one-size-fits-all kit.

Assembly and Completion

You complete the remaining construction based on the package selected. This may include framing assembly, weatherproofing, insulation, utilities, interior finishes, cabinetry, flooring, fixtures, appliances, and final trim.

Final Inspections and Placement

Permit, inspection, certification, utility, and placement requirements vary by project and location. Customers are responsible for confirming local requirements, and our team can help explain the structural documentation associated with the package we provide.

Build It Yourself. Don’t Build It Alone

Our goal is to provide an engineered, professionally manufactured starting point and a written division of work. You remain responsible for construction outside the purchased scope and for confirming permits, inspections, utilities, and placement requirements with the appropriate local authorities.
